COVID-19 Response

March 30, 2020: We continue to work with our State of Connecticut contacts. There is no substantive change to the statement below. If you have any questions, email Executive Director LeAndre Dupree or call our office: 203-272-5607.

March 18, 2020: Abilities Without Boundaries (AWB) has suspended operations until further notice in response to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic.

At AWB, we care deeply about the health and safety of the individuals in our care, our staff and employees. AWB is complying with all directives from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Connecticut Department of Developmental Services (DDS) in taking these precautionary actions.

All individuals must stay home until further notice.

Unless specifically directed otherwise, all employees must stay home until further notice.

AWB’s Board of Directors and Executive Staff members recognize the impact these decisions will have on our individuals, employees and staff, and do not take these steps lightly. We know that many of our individuals will not understand the disruption to their daily routines. We also know that our loyal employees are the lifeblood of our business, supporting the people with disabilities we serve. Still, health and safety must be our first priority. We are in continual contact with DDS and other relevant authorities. If you are able to make a donation to AWB, please do so now. Our need has never been greater. We ask that our job and volunteer sites still active, bear with us as we work to service your needs. (Job sites may contact Career Services Coordinator Sarah Santone.) Our greatest hope is to find a way forward and a return to supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

We will post notices as more information becomes available on our website and our Facebook Page We hope to resume normal operations as soon as it is reasonably practicable and safe to do so.

Sincerely yours,
Lloyd R. Saberski MD
AWB Board of Directors President
