Connecticut Disability Services
Abilities Without Boundaries (AWB) provides Connecticut disability services for adults ages 21 to 80 with intellectual and developmental (I/DD) disabilities. We focus on integrated employment and day services with a strict focus on the individual needs of each client.
We support individuals with a broad variety of needs. Some are transitioning from high school or college. Others are changing services for any number of reasons.
AWB assesses each person’s needs. We work with the individual’s case manager and caregiver. Together we create an appropriate programming plan, unique to each individual. We work to fulfill each person’s Individual Plan (IP). We work to achieve each individual’s goals. We continually assess, adjust and report on each individual’s IP. We work closely with the Connecticut Department of Developmental Services (DDS).

Employment Services
The stories of our workers are inspiring and educational. They teach us how an opportunity to work can change a person’s life. We aim to change the perception of people with disabilities and set an example for other companies to hire our population served.
We find employment for all those able. Some of our individuals are employed in a wide scope of jobs in the communities we serve. Others work at our Cheshire facility. Through our work programs, adults with disabilities have the opportunity to earn a wage. In addition, AWB job coaches help to ensure quality and productivity of each job. Job coaches also help expand the job skills of each individual. Learn more.

Whether it is interacting with the community at large or the community within our own facility, we offer a variety of programs and experiences to stimulate our individuals’ minds and senses, support integration into their home communities, grow their skills and much more.
AWB also offers day programs focusing on enhancing daily living activities, gross and fine motor skills, and social and emotional interactions.
